We’re really pleased to have linked up with a brand new Neighbourhood Watch organisation in Bristol.

The Bristol NHW Network has been set up to give help and support to all Neighbourhood Watch schemes across the City and County of Bristol. Through this website the Network will be able to provide help and advice to NHW Co-ordinators and information to interested members of the public.

As a county association the NHW Network will have a voice at regional and national level and will be able to influence decisions taken which affect the Neighbourhood Watch movement at grass roots level.

The Network is to develop a committee comprising of one Co-ordinator plus a deputy from each of the fourteen Neighbourhood Partnership areas across the county, so that issues from across the whole area can be addressed and there is a balanced representation. They recognise that this may take some time to achieve as there are many more Neighbourhood Watch schemes in some areas of the city than others, but they are determined to achieve that end.

The Network is still in the process of developing their website to help their members access all the information they need but are not far away from an ‘official’ launch.  If you are a NHW Co-ordinator living in the City or County of Bristol and there is any information which could help you now, perhaps to maintain the interest and enthusiasm of your members, or that may help new schemes just setting up, please let them know either by email or via the Contact form on the website so that they can include it on the website.

In tough economic times, volunteering through Neighbourhood Watch has never been more important and we’re confident that Bristol NHW Network will be a complete success.  Do show them your support by visiting the website.
