Hey! It’s the 1st of December and you know what that means.....
Extra drinks after work, lots of parties to attend and presents round the tree; three ingredients that can add up to a great time for you and maybe the thief too!
Just bear in mind that the number one reason for a thief to burgle a home (apart from poor security) is evidence that there’s nobody at home. By this I mean don’t be like Victor, who’s house is the only one in the street with no lights on at 7pm, because he said yes to that little Christmas drink after work and he didn’t have any timers operating his living room lights. Or maybe he went out to a party on a Saturday night and forgot to leave some lights on or tell his neighbour he was out for the night.
So the thief got in through the French doors, right next to the Christmas tree and one by one opened up all the presents taking the ones that he could get a little cash for.
So, don’t be like Victor, get yourself down to the DIY centre this weekend and buy two or three timers for your lights – they’re really cheap! And check your security is up to scratch before you go by carrying out a survey of your home using the free Home Security Survey on this website.
