Police in Herefordshire are warning people to pay special attention to their home security before heading off for the half term break following a number of burglaries across the county recently.
Seventeen burglaries have been reported to the police in Herefordshire so far this month – just six fewer than the total number recorded for the whole of January.
With most schools breaking up for half term next Monday (18 February), officers are issuing crime prevention advice to residents to help them beat the burglars.
Detective Chief Inspector Sean Paley of West Mercia Police said that by following basic security advice, people could reduce the chances of their properties being targeted, helping them to travel with peace of mind.

And, of course, The Crime Prevention Website agrees with Chief Inspector Paley and as lots of families around the country will be going away on holiday for the half term we would strongly suggest taking a look at our helpful and comprehensive Holiday Security Checklist
You know it makes sense!
