The Crime Prevention Website is 1 year old today!

We had no real idea how the site was going to perform on year ago, but we thought around 40,000 visitors in the first year might be a reasonable expectation.  We’re pleased to say that with your help we’ve exceeded this by quite some margin.  Almost 73,000 visits (62,000 first timers) and 176,000 page views!  This, by any measure, is really good progress for a new specialist advice site.

Although our website caters for a mainly UK and Rep. of Ireland audience, people from all over the world are finding our pages useful.

Here’s the top ten visiting countries

  • UK and Rep of Ireland                 82%
  • United States of America             6%
  • Australia                                      2%
  • Canada                                       1.5%
  • India                                            1%
  • Malaysia                                      0.75%
  • Philippines                                   0.75%
  • Germany                                      0.5%
  • South Africa                                 0.5%
  • New Zealand                                0.5%

A Google.co.uk search for the word's 'Crime Prevention' and 'Crime Prevention News' shows us ranked Number One; an achievement we feel really proud about!

To help us celebrate our first year of operation with style our friends at TotalSafes.co.uk have generously donated a £500 voucher to be used by the winner to purchase a safe!  Details about this fantastic free-to-enter draw (UK Mainland only) will be posted up on our website in the next couple of days.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all our Partnering websites, Newsletter subscribers, Neighbourhood Watch supporters, Twitter followers, Facebook friends and likers, our friends in the Police and Crime Commissioners Offices, the Police Services and Local Authorities, and everyone else, both here and abroad, who have been so generous in their support for what we hope will continue to be a useful and independent guide to home and personal security.

Here’s to our next year of crime preventing! J
