Having been a keen supporter of the Neighbourhood Watch movement since its introduction into the UK and helped to set up some of the first schemes in Acton, west London, I am naturally delighted to announce a forthcoming reciprocal link with the London Neighbourhood Watch Association (LNWA).

To understand the representative role of the LNWA and to make contact with them please read the following paragraphs taken from their website.

The LNWA represents the Boroughs and the City of London at the Neighbourhood & Home Watch Network (NHWN), the national Neighbourhood Watch organisation recognised by ACPO and the Home Office.

LNWA aims to make the community a safer, more enjoyable place to live, work and play by promoting issues such as security and safety, and working closely with community groups including the Metropolitan Police, City of London Police, Home Office, and the Boroughs.

In Greater London, more than a quarter of homes are members of a Neighbourhood Watch reflecting the high level of community spirit and support from households.

Neighbourhood Watch across London is managed at Borough level and not by LNWA (which only acts as the Representative Body).  For more information or to find out how to set up a Watch in your neighbourhood you should visit the LNWA Home Page and follow the easy to use instructions.

For further information on LNWA please use the "Contact Us" tab on their website or click here.

As a consequence of this new link The Crime Prevention Website will become even more accessible to Londoners and we are very grateful to the LNWA for making this happen.
