Here’s a link to a very short video starring Police Sergeant Jose Sarmiento, a Crime Prevention Officer from Brisbane West talking to residents about home security audits.
It’s an interesting video in-so-much that this is a service that is not as available in the UK as it once was; due in part to reduced police budgets and fewer crime prevention specialists being employed by the police.
This is why I created my on-line Home Security Survey application. A whopping 98% of the 1,533 people who have used the application reckon the application is useful and of these 66% say it’s very or extremely useful.
The survey is anonymous, takes between 15 and 20 minutes to complete and you get sent a home security report and risk assessment score. You can then click on the embedded hyper-links to go to other parts of the website for more detailed advice and, once you’ve made those improvements, you can do the survey again to see how your score has improved.
I’m trying to get the number of completed surveys up to 2,000 so that the anonymous data I derive from them, which I use to inform my advice sections and newsletters, becomes even more useful than it already is.
So, if you’ve not had a go, do please try it out and I would be ever so grateful if you could Tweet and Email about it to your followers and contacts.
Thanks very much!
