I read today on the This is the West Country.co.uk website that Avon and Somerset Constabulary, who partner The Crime Prevention Website, have been busy advising allotment holders about what they can do to reduce a spate of thefts from sheds.
Police Community Support Officer, Jo Farrow, has been holding property-marking events at allotments across the Bridgwater area in an attempt to reduce the theft of gardening tools and equipment.
It’s one of the few categories of crime that’s been doggedly consistent, simply because most of our sheds and especially those in allotments are ostensible weak structures containing stuff that can be easily sold on at car boot sales.
It’s good to see that the advice on this website has been referenced in the article (which is what it’s for) and so if you’ve got a couple days off this summer and don’t want to waste them by relaxing in your garden drinking Pimms and eating the slightly charred sausages off the barbeque then take a look at this link to see what you can do about shed.
You know it makes sense!
