I see that the Police in Bromsgrove have been advising people to be on the lookout for counterfeit £20 notes (referred to as a ‘Score’ or ‘Bobby Moore’ down my way).
This is something we should all be careful about, so just as retail assistants will take a careful look at the banknote you hand them, so you should do the same thing when you receive a note in your change.
The Bank of England website has a simple guide to checking notes at this link It’s worth a read because you’ll learn just how much thought goes into producing a banknote to thwart the counterfeiters.
You know it makes sense.
