I’ve recently received an email from the Chair of the Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association to say that they will be linking to TCPW in the next few days.  Having recently been linked to by Cumbria Constabulary this is very welcomed news as this crime prevention site will become even more accessible to the residents of the county.

The mission of Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association is to support Neighbourhood Watch in Cumbria in creating communities where everyone feels safe. The Association also helps support specialist Watch groups such as Farm Watch and Hotel Watch.

The Association is a charitable company run by a Board of Trustees all of whom are volunteers. New Board members are always welcome and if you are interested in getting involved in the work of the Association the Chair, John Perkins, would be delighted to hear from you (contact details on their website).

Besides its website the Association publishes newsletters, organises regional conferences and supports a County wide messaging service, which is completely free and easy to join. Just go to www.cumbriacommunitymessaging.co.uk and follow the links to register.

Neighbourhood Watch in Cumbria involves the police, local authorities, community safety partnerships, fire and rescue services and above all individuals and families who aim to make their neighbourhoods better places to live.

Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association works hard to support that aim and we’re really glad we can now be of some help.

I must say that we are really impressed by all the work the Association does and we thoroughly recommend a visit to their various sites to see that work in progress.
