It seems that thieves have burgled a number of homes in the capital while Dublin fans were out enjoying the All-Ireland celebrations.

Gardai (police) are investigating break-ins at houses and vehicles which took place over the weekend.

It is believed that thieves specifically targeted properties in the knowledge that the occupants would be out celebrating.  In one estate in north Dublin – the Woodbine estate in Raheny – an entire row of properties was burgled.  Gardai believe that thieves had been lurking in the estate and raided the homes after the occupants left.
