Last Saturday Ben and I and the rest of the Beckford family were keeping everything crossed!  Was the site going to deliver what our visitors wanted? Was the word going to spread? Well, judging by the wonderful comments and words of encouragement we’ve been receiving, it seems that we’re making some good progress.

I know that the subject of crime prevention can sometimes be as tedious as the tiresome, single topic tedium, except, that is for those of us (like you now) who are reading this post! But sometimes people do need to know about these things and when they do there should be a place for them to go that gives advice that is easy to understand and practical to apply. That’s our number one goal.

In the first week we’ve had just over 8,000 page views and over one hundred home security surveys completed. This is encouraging, but now the really hard work begins – promoting the site and establishing links.  It’s good content and links that make a site work and as the number of visitors increase the feedback and interaction will also kick in.

All this will happen with time and you can help.  ‘Your Crime Prevention Website needs you!’ - so to speak.

I already have a number of police services that are going to link to us over the next couple of weeks and if my former colleagues reading this can do the same from their force websites please get in touch with us.  I’m also in the process of writing to a large number of non police organisations to do the same. It’s going to be interesting to see the responses I get.

All in all we’re very happy with the way things are going and Ben and I just want to say a massive thank you for your fantastic support.
