Justice Minister David Ford has welcomed an initiative to enhance safety and reduce rural crime in Ballymena.
Farmers at the launch last Friday were able to avail of guard-cams, CCTV cameras and tracking equipment along with the PSNI’s free trailer marking scheme.
Specially trained PSNI Crime Prevention officers were also on hand to offer advice and farmers were encouraged to sign up to PSNI’s Text Alert Scheme – an early alert system for farmers in the area about crime and suspicious activity.
The project has been developed by the Ballymena Policing and Community Partnership, who the Minister commended for their efforts.
