The good news is that The Crime Prevention Website is doing pretty good!

Last night, after six long weeks of continuous promotion, The Crime Prevention Website achieved a page 1 position for a Google search for the words ‘crime prevention’.  We share the page with the Home Office, Crimestoppers, The Metropolitan Police Service, Wikipedia and our friends at Thames Valley Police.  Remaining on page 1 is something else altogether and we’re hoping that some of you reading this will be in a position to link to us from your websites to help us maintain this position.

Being on page 1 (or page 2) means that we’re doing the right things to be there and that Google likes our content.  It also means that our target audience likes our stuff too; and that’s the most important thing of all. We are fast approaching 25,000 page views by almost 6,000 visitors, we’re building up a healthy number of links to the site and over 150 people have signed up for the Newsletter.

And although this progress is great news for the site, we’re not in a rush because we’re going to be around for a very long time to come; bolstered by lots of very nice comments from our visitors.

So thanks again to you all and, as Shaw Taylor of Police Five used to say:

“Keep ‘em peeled!”
