Do please bear in mind that with lots of houses being left open for their amenities during street parties there is a slightly increased opportunity for theft. The chances are there will be no problems, because it'll be your friends and neighbours in attendance. However, there will be people there that you don't know so it would be wise to hide the valuables away, put them in the safe or lock them away in a bedroom and always have a household member present in the house if its facilities are to be used.
If you've parked your car away from your own road, because it's closed for the street party, then make sure it's been locked and you've removed things from view. It's always a good idea for one or two of the helpers to be given the role for 'security' during the event, just to keep a look out for anything suspicious and to check that the people who are at the party are indeed meant to be there.
Do mind your handbags and gentlemen mind you wallets.
Have a fantastic and safe Diamond Jubilee Street Party - I know I will !
