The sunny weather has certainly encouraged a few of our visitors to carry out the Home Security Survey with 25 of you taking the plunge in the past seven days. Visitors came from all over England with 18 counties represented. There was also one survey conducted in the Republic of Ireland and one carried out in Iowa (we get quite a lot done by people in the US and Canada).
These 25 surveys took on average 17 minutes each to complete with the quickest one taking 9 minutes and the longest one 40 minutes (probably made a cup of tea half way through!)
The lowest scoring survey was 50/100 and the highest scoring achieved 70/100. The average score across all 25 surveys was 60.7, which is close to the overall average of 60.32 for the 2,768 surveys carried out since this site was launched 2 years ago.
Each respondent was sent a home security report, which includes links to other pages on the site for further information and which also highlights areas where they could improve their risk assessment score and thus improve their home security.
The reason I’m providing this information today is to highlight the importance of getting independent advice before you embark on improving your home security. As you can see, it only takes 15 minutes or so to run through the 70 odd questions and as you do so it’ll really focus your mind on the things you need to do. Hopefully you’ll score in the mid to high 60s or even higher, but if your home is down in the 50s or even lower then some urgent work will be required!
Now is the time of year when we can more easily carry out work around our homes and I hope that security improvements will be on your list of things to do!
You know it makes sense J
