The Centre for Crime Prevention has just published a report that reveals an astonishing number of serious and repeat offenders’ prison sentences are being suspended by the courts and recommends that such sentences should be abolished.
To highlight their argument they reveal that 11,670 serious offenders had their prison sentences suspended in 2012/13 despite more than 10 previous convictions or cautions. Further facts make for a strong argument and the short report is well worth the read
