Some of you regular keen-eyed visitors may have noticed that I recently created a new tab for Non Domestic Buildings. Over time I will be populating this new section with advice for buildings such as shops, offices, warehouses, churches, schools, farms and so on; drawing from the work I did when in the police. I’m also going to add my work on ‘crime opportunity profiling of streets’, which looks at how we can improve the street scene to design out the things that encourage drug dealing and use, anti-social behaviour and a myriad of other street based crime. I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me!
To kick things off I added a new page for Metal theft and then added one of my 7,000 word epics entitled CCTV for Home and Business, a subject that now very much overlaps both home and business security since the cost of CCTV has come down so much in recent years. I had a lot of help with this section from Directory member Bradling Security and Securicorp Components Limited for which I am very grateful.
I know I’ve got a lot of police visitors to the site and so if there is something pressing that you would like me to write about sooner then please get in touch. Likewise, if you have any contributions to make to the content please send them through to me using Contact. I’ll send you my email address to make things easier to send.
Keep ‘em peeled
