On November 15th this year you will have an opportunity to elect your local Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC). These people will be responsible for delivering effective policing in your local area and will replace the Police Authorities (In England and Wales).
Is your Neighbourhood Watch group talking about the forthcoming election? Do you know who might be standing for your area?
If you would like to see how things are progressing, take a look at the Police Foundation’s website and in particular click on their ‘latest developments’ spreadsheet in their News section to identify who might be standing. Alternatively you could visit public-i blog where they’ve usefully plotted the Foundation’s spreadsheet data onto a map.
I see from the PCC candidate list that we’ll have the usual array of colourful candidates, including Lord Toby Jug of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party (standing in Cambridgeshire).
