I recently received a very welcomed email from a member of the North West Kent Crime Prevention Panel suggesting that we link our websites. Not being linked with any crime prevention panel I eagerly went on their website to find out what they do. I was really impressed by what I saw!
For one thing, the panel operates a crime prevention van, which is taken to various locations and events around their area to promote the crime prevention message. In conjunction with Kent Police and other agencies they’ve also been sharing The Safety Store, which is a shop in Bluewater, where you’ve been able to purchase a wide range of really useful security gizmos at very low prices!
What’s more they give talks on crime prevention, carry out home security surveys, mark and register bicycles and horse tack, and do many other things to support their local communities and the police. And on top of this you can also purchase security items listed on their website, again at knock down prices!
Excellent stuff!
Of course, they are always keen to hear from anyone who might like to volunteer with these very worthwhile activities, so if you live in the Gravesham, Dartford and the Sevenoaks areas they would love to hear from you.
Do please pay their site a visit and look at their future events programme to see where they’ll be exhibiting next!
I knew Crime Prevention Panels still existed (originally set up in 1960) and it’s been a pleasant surprise to discover just how much they actually do to help us.
