I thought it would be interesting to include a link to Canada’s Police-reported crime statistics 2011 (released on July 24th 2012) since I have partnering websites in Canada and lots of visitors from the country. It’s interesting to note that overall crime levels haven’t been as low in the country since 1972; a similar trend we’re seeing over here across most of Europe.
The crimes which have increased are homicide, sexual offences against children, child pornography, criminal harassment, impaired driving and most drug offences. Apart from homicide these increases will be more a measurement of police enforcement activity uncovering more crime, rather than more actual crime.
This is all excellent news for the Canadian people and their police services
