Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens will be hosting the second of two initial business meet and greets on Wednesday 13 March 2013, 18.00 – 19.00 at Leigh Court, Abbots Leigh.
Ms Mountstevens is encouraging businesses to come along to the meeting and to join in discussing her plans to establish a Business Crime Forum in Avon and Somerset. The Commissioner announced the initiative for a Business Crime Forum in her inauguration speech that she plans, with the support of business leaders, to address business crime and help offenders.
The meeting will enable the PCC to introduce her vision and objectives for tackling crimes against business and to give businesses the chance to be able to share their thoughts and ideas.
Speaking about the business crime forum, Ms Mountstevens said: “In my experience businesses have a real desire to engage with the police and I feel that a Business Crime Forum, which will be at a very strategic level covering the whole of Avon and Somerset, would be the platform for this.
“In having a Business Crime Forum, I want to engage with retailers and businesses because they are key to our economy and a really important voice which I do not think have been listened to before.”
