If you’re still planning your trip abroad this year can I suggest that you take a look at the ‘Foreign travel advice’ pages on www.gov.uk
The pages are especially helpful if you’re travelling outside the EU and need to know whether the country you’re planning to visit is safe for visitors. The advice is succinct and up-to-date and provides information about safety and security, terrorism, local laws and customs, entry requirements, health, natural disasters and money. I always check the site before I book my holidays and do so before I start reading about individuals’ travel experiences on the various travel sites.
Do also make sure you’ve taken care of your security arrangements at home before you travel and to help you do this I recommend you take a look at the Holiday Security Checklist on this website
