The following has been re-posted from our friends at the Avon and Somerset Constabulary
Recharged following a year off and with high hopes for some sunshine it's almost time to dust off the sunglasses, dig out the wellies and head down to Worthy Farm. Before we do that we'll be logging on for a webchat to answer your questions about policing Glastonbury Festival, the world's largest greenfield music and performing arts festival.
Since last summer the Operational Planning team have been preparing to help provide a safe and crime-free festival for the 170,000 people who will be on the site.
But how do we plan for such an event, what is it like to work at Glastonbury and is there any advice we can give people who want a safe and crime-free festival?
Inspector Shirley Eden will be taking part in a webchat between 7pm – 8.30pm on Wednesday June 12 to chat about our role at the festival and her experiences at the event over the past 19 years.
Speaking ahead of the webchat, Shirley said: "It's often said that Glastonbury Festival is the equivalent of a whole city relocating to a farm in Somerset, but it's true and planning for it is something which begins almost as soon as the previous one finishes".
"We work with the festival organisers to ensure everyone has a great time and to ensure we are accessible and available on site. The webchat we are holding will give people a chance to find out more about policing at the festival. When we did the webchat in 2011 it was really lively and I hope people will log on to chat again."
