Shoppers visiting Hoddesdon Town Centre in Hertfordshire will be able to pick up some crime prevention advice on Friday September 27.
The Hoddesdon Safer Neighbourhood Team will be setting up a stall in the foyer at Sainsbury on Brewer’s Road between 10am and noon. They will be giving out advice on things like making homes more secure by properly securing doors, windows and out-buildings, as well as advising on how to mark and register items on the free property marking website: www.immobilise.com.
Police Community Support Officer Lauren Minors said: “Although this area is very safe, there are always opportunists who’ll take advantage if you leave a door, window or garden shed open.
“These events are a great opportunity to talk to people and remind them to keep their homes more secure especially as the evenings get darker. Always lock up your home and shed when you go out, and marking and registering valuables is a great way to protect them and help recover any lost or stolen items.”
