Did you carry out any security improvements to your home during the summer or did the barbeque come before the new bolt for the gate or maybe the weeding took preference over the window locks? Improving your home security can be a chore, especially when compared to the many other more delightful pursuits around the home and garden, but it’s no good putting it off any longer.
The nights are starting to draw in and as we move ever closer to the clock change on 27 October many police services will begin to receive more reports of burglary and thefts from around the home.
The earlier nights will begin to reveal who’s at home in the early evening and who’s not and so now’s the time to sort out your security lighting and to make those improvements to the doors, windows and fences that have been put off during the summer good times.
One easy way to see what you might want to do to improve your security is to carry out our Home Security Survey. It’s anonymous and free and we think pretty comprehensive. It’s not just a simple check-list, it’s a carefully designed survey, the questions and answers to which are designed to prompt the little grey cells into action.
The survey should take you around 20 minutes to complete and you’ll be sent a free tailor-made security report and risk assessment score. The report contains clickable references to other parts of the website for more detailed advice and then once you’ve made your improvements you can take the survey again to see how your score has improved. The security report actually tells you what improvements will affect your score.
As of today, the survey has been taken 1, 955 times and the average score is 60.3. Is a score of 60.3 a good score? Not particularly! Take a look at the full explanation of the score bands on the Home Security Survey page on this website, take the survey and help me reach 2,000 surveys!
You know it makes sense!
