When I go on holiday I am fortunate in having sons and future daughter-in-laws in possession of my home, so my chances of having uninvited visitors are about the same as when I’m at home.
HOWEVER! I leave nothing to chance and so I practice what I preach and set up numerous safeguards to put off the burglars, including copious instructional notes about making sure the light timers and alarm are set and so on; things that my family would do anyway, as a matter of course.
Like most people I like to get away for a few days when I can, but to go in November, when burglary reaches its statistical peak, is a time that may worry some people.
So, if you’re going away for a few days this month or next, perhaps around Christmas, do check out my Holiday Security Checklist for a few hints and tips, because reading about them now will give you time to prepare and, of course, because you know it makes sense!
