We’re pleased to tell you that we have made a reciprocal link with Fleet and District Neighbourhood Watch in Hampshire

Fleet & District Neighbourhood Watch began life in 1991 with the encouragement of the Home Office. Since then it has grown to some 6,000 participating households and 260 co-ordinators. The area covered includes urban Fleet and Church Crookham and the rural communities of Crookham Village, Ewshot, Winchfield, Dogmersfield and Crondall.

The area has a population of some 50,000 people and is situated in the north east of Hampshire. Aldershot, home of the British Army and Farnborough, birthplace of British Aviation and site of the famous International Air show, are located nearby.

They say on their website that they’re “lucky to live in an area of low crime”, but also recognise the fact that “houses still get burgled, cars get stolen and garden sheds get broken into”.

They see their objective as being supportive of the police and encourage their participants to report what they see rather than feeling that it is none of their business. They rightly make the point that it is not ‘snooping’; but is, in fact, a positive and effective way to help the local police do their job and at the same time to look after themselves and their neighbours.

If you live in the local area do please pay their website a visit and if you can spare a little time to help out I know they would be delighted to hear from you.
