At long last I have added a new advice page for Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch. It’s been a long time coming simply because I’ve been working on other things and there is already a plethora of other useful help and advice available on the internet. That said, The Crime Prevention Website is all about preventing crime, and it benefits greatly from its reciprocal links with lots of Neighbourhood Watch websites around the country, so a page specifically highlighting Neighbourhood Watch and its work was pretty much essential.
I’ve kicked it off with 3,200 words, one thousand of which relate to a little history about my time on the beat in Acton, west London where I helped set up several Watches just after the initiative began in the UK. As time goes on I shall be adding more information, but I would still urge my visitors to go to the main website for the Neighbourhood Watch movement – Ourwatch.
Ourwatch describes themselves as ‘the only official national Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch website supported by the Home Office and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO)’ and with that in mind what better site to visit if you want to start off a new Watch. Obviously, if it’s crime prevention advice you’re after you are already on the right websiteJ
